That's not really an acceptable answer. This isn't an issue in most databases I've worked with. I have had the same issue MULTIPLE times with Ed but also Star. It's not that Ed or Star are in the names of the other animals that come up. It's that Ed and Star are somewhere in the file. Putting "Ed" bring up ZERO entries. What's up with that? This is a REAL problem with animal search and needs a real solution other than creating a custom database.

The search query for Ed is finding animals that have "ed" in the name. If you have a microchip number, animal ID, or rescue ID, you can locate Ed more quickly. Alternatively, you can also create a custom datatable view and limit the amount of animals that are displayed to a specific status which may help you locate the animal more quickly.

When I go to Animals>Animal list> Search Animals>Enter name "Ed" in search terms>Go it brings up 98 pages of animals, none of which are Ed. And we have an Ed. It seems to do this with names less than 5 letters. I noticed that if I type in "Mutt" it brings up MUTT, Mutt, and Vinny. WHY VINNY???? How can I search for a dog with a short name???
