Explanation of the options for visitors

Visitors to your website are presented with a number of options for interacting with your organization. The following table lists these options with an explanation of each.

OptionDescription

Allow (organization name) to send me email, snail mail and to call me

Your visitors can select to opt into your organization's emails, letters, and phone calls. This is important if you are sending email to your contacts. RescueGroup.org requires emails to be opt-in for your recipients.

Allow (organization name) to snail mail me

Option for the visitor to agree to specifically receive hard-copy mail from your organization.

Get Alerts when your favorite Animal is updated

If this option is selected, the visitor will receive an email when one of their favorite animals is updated.

Get an alert when your favorite Breed is added

If this option is selected, the visitor will receive an e-mail when one of their favorite breeds is added, within the distance selected. These breeds may be any rescue within the distance, not just yours.

Never send me any e-mails

When the visitor selects this option, they will not receive any automatic emails from your organization (such as automatic responses to forms, marketing, and so forth). The exception is password reset email).
