Creating the email

For detailed information about how to create your email marketing campaign email, see these pages in this guide:

Selecting a banner image

To select a banner image, use the drop-down list on the right. This list contains all the images you've uploaded to your website. See the chapter Managing images for email marketing campaigns to learn more about images used in marketing campaigns. The banner image is shown at the top of the page on public pages like the subscription pages.

About your quota

The information on the Email Marketing Campaign Settings page is important for you to know. If you send the maximum quota of emails for the month, the service stops sending emails. It does not continue sending more emails, so you are never charged an overage fee. If you want to send more emails on a given month, you can upgrade to a larger service package. Monitor the number of emails sent from the Settings page, an upgrade if you need to.

See the section on Upgrading, downgrading, and changing your services for directions on how to change your quota.

Finding the number of bounced emails

Bounced emails do count against the email quota because they are emails sent, even though they have bounced backed. They are bounced because they are rejected by the destination mail server after they were sent by the RescueGroups.org email server.

You can check the number of bounced emails your organization has had for a particular campaign by going to Services > Email Marketing: Campaigns. The list of your current campaigns opens.

To the right is the number of bounced emails. However, you can see that you also can review how many emails were sent for a particular campaign, how many were opened (this number does not reflect, of course, whether someone read it), how many clicked a link in the email, as well as any marked spam. You can also see if people unsubscribed. Because this list is a datatable, you can change the view or create a custom view. For instance, you can create a new view based only on the bounced emails from your campaigns.
