RescueGroups.org is the only service that automatically uploads adoptable pets to the Dogs in Danger website.

These are the requirements for acceptance of adoptable pets to the Dogs in Danger website:

  • Dogs only
  • Euthanasia reason must be provided
  • Euthanasia date (in the future) must be provided

Enabling exports to Dogs in Danger

Before Dogs in Danger can pull your data, you must enable the export.  Follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your RescueGroups.org account (Browse to  https://rescuegroups.org  and click the Login button at the top of the page).
    2. Click Animals > Exports from the top menu tabs.
    3. Scroll down to Dogs in Danger.
    4. Verify that it says Dogs in Danger enabled.
    5. If it says Disabled, click the link to Enable.

Verifying the requirements

Ensure that your dogs meet the requirements by sharing the euthanasia information:

    1. Log in to your RescueGroups.org account (Browse to  https://rescuegroups.org and click the Login button at the top of the page).
    2. Click Animals > Settings from the top menu tabs. 

      Important

      You must have Site Admin permissions to use the Settings menu.

    3. Click Exports Settings.
    4. Scroll down to the Privacy settings section.
    5. Verify that Yes is selected for Show the animal's euthanasia information.
    6. If Yes is not selected, click the radio button next to the Yes option and then click Save at the bottom of the page.

When adding or updating a dog, make sure you enter a Euthanasia Reason and Euthanasia Date.

How long does it take to update the Dogs in Danger website?

Dogs in Danger retrieves your data on their own schedule, normally once a day.  Your pets on the Dogs in Danger website should update the following morning.  There is no way to force a retrieval.
