I'm using the HTTP API to list out dogs on my site with a status of "Available" but there is one that sill displays as available but actually has a "Pending" status in RescueGroups admin. I've logged into RescueGroups to confirm the animal record and it's correct. I've tried different things to determine if it's a caching issue on my end but that doesn't seem to be the case. The animal in question was just updated this morning to "Pending" but still displays on my external website as "Available". I've checked the code and it's specifically requesting just the available status type. The data usually is corrected after about a days time, just wondering if anyone might know what may cause this and if there is an actual delay. Any ideas? Thanks!

      Darin,

We're sorry to hear that you experienced issues over the weekend. We do not see any issues with our API on our end over the weekend. However, we don't know which specific organization account you are using. We'd be happy to look into this matter further to ensure everything is operating as expected for your team. As that would be a private account situation, we'd request that you please open a support ticket with our staff so that we can assist further.

We can assure you that we do not disable our API for maintenance without communicating this information through service status updates.

And I got the same response that you have from support.  Good luck with that, because they need the information when the problem is occurring.  I've even submitted support tickets when it was happening (usually seemed to be on a Sunday), but the response did not come, understandably until the next business day.  It's almost like it got stuck in a queue and on some occasions I was able to make a change to the record and save and have it go thru.  Other times, nothing worked and I had to wait it out.   People working adoptions screaming to get a dog off the website because of too many applications and my hands were tied.  Not pleasant.

Okay, it's 10pm on a Saturday night. We have an update to a dog (Jason) as adopted at 517pm and he's still on our website almost 5 hours later. You probably won't see this until Monday when the problem magically clears itself and you claim that you don't have the data and there is not problem. This has been occurring on and off for years with no resolution... always on weekends. In the past, I've opened support tickets, but it has been a waste of time.

I've actually seen this behavior a number of times and it always occurs on weekends.  I've reported it and then it clears up on Monday morning magically.  Sometimes I've had to go in and save the record again to get it to go.  Have not been able to get support to believe there is some issue.  I've often thought that they might be disabling the API when doing maintenance and then it is enabled afterwards.  So, it's not anything you're doing wrong, but it is very frustrating.

Thank you for the feedback. It's good to hear it's not just me, as far as troubleshooting is concerned (smile). As you mentioned about magically clearing up, the record I was having an issue with has been resolved today without me doing anything.
