In the grey bar, there's a button for Intake Services.  But I can't find a way to add a service to animal intake.  I've seen other people ask this question and they were told to use the Journal feature.  I'm okay with that, but I'd like to know what the Intake Services is for.

Based on what type of "Intake" you do for your animal, you will have reasons for that intake.  It's situational, so for an Owner Surrender intake, it'll ask you for the surrenderer's name and info. For Stray Pickup, it'll ask you for the name of the person who found the animal, the name of the person who picked up the animal and the address for where the dog was found.

So, in your case, if you intake an animal just for service, once you choose that Intake Reason, it'll give you options to choose from. The default in this case is:

      Exam
      Microchip
      Spay/Neuter
      Vaccination
Wean Puppy (I may have added this when I did intake on my neighbor's dog who had puppies and the puppies were surrendered to us...and we kept the mom until the puppies were weened and had the mom spayed)

You should have only one reason for intake (born in rescue, transfer from another shelter/rescue, OS, etc), once you choose that reason, there are different options for each.  If you have medical services you are doing to an animal you've already done intake on, then each of those 'services' should be managed in journal entries

We use that all the time.  We specialize in Surrender Prevention, so we assist owners with their pets.  We pay for a variety of things, including vetting, supplies, fencing, food, you name it.  Anything we can do to help them keep their pet.  They are entered in as an intake, for Service, then an outcome is done, Returned to Owner, when we have completed what needed to be done.  Some are a one-day deal.  Some we help multiple times over months.
We've added to the "services" list, as we needed to.  And for what made sense for what we do.   It is vital in tracking our numbers, including the number of owned animals we've helped, as well as how much $ was spent on them.

        Hope this helps.

It never occurred to me that an animal would be brought into an organization temporarily - just to have a "service done."  But I understand this now.  Thank you, Andrea.  And good to talk with you again.  (smile)
