Is there a way to add an animal in v5 of the API?

I was wondering if there was a way to add an animal to an account through the newest version of the API. I can't seem to find much documentation other than doing searches. I am making an app for a rescue and they have an account with RescueGroups so that they can add an animal and (as I understand it) that animal shows up on multiple websites advertising pets up for adoption (please let me know if I got that wrong). I wanted them to be able to add an animal in the app and then use your API to add the animal to their account here so the animal would show up on all the other websites. Is this possible?

      Wes,

      The v5 API is still in beta and we've only make the public endpoints available at this point.  We'll be adding the private/authenticated endpoints as well, but we don't have an ETA for when that will be.

        Thank you for the quick reply.  That's a shame but it looks like I can do what I want with v2, so I can work with that for now.

        Also I'd just like to clarify something about what I mentioned in the original post. As I understand it, when my client adds an animal to their account, you guys automatically distribute that animal's information to hundreds of different adoption sites. First, is that correct? Second, if I add an animal using the v2 API, will it do the same thing and distribute that animal's info?
