Is there a way to add Foster-to-Adopt as an animal status?

We have some animals that go to a home on a 'trial' basis that we would like to mark as "Foster-to-Adopt"  Is there a way to add this as an animal status?

      enable the radio button Adoption pending to yes

      Then, select the applicants name.  This will still show the pet listed on your site, but will not permit any applications to be submitted on him/her.
