Another hinky thing (not high priority) - when cloning an animal, the 'microchip vendor' goes back to "choose...". I thought it was an error in my template, but when I went to fix it, the template was fine.  I was adding a bunch of kitten litters, and it seems like it's in the cloning process (which I LOVE!)

Thanks!  Again, not a big deal.  I'm not technical enough to know what is a quick fix and what is a major programming effort.

One of the responses to my question indicated that this would actually make it harder for them. It really is no big deal for me to re-select my vendor, so this should not be a priority - and should probably only be changed if it provides for the option, rather than making it a default.

When we clone a large number of animals from a  source such as a legal shutdown or auction, we may have dogs from many sources; we usually do not know the manufacturer of the chip if one exists, we may know the number but rarely.  If we have chip number, we do not usually know the vendor and they are many times different vendors in the group.     We clone the animals upon original receipt, most times before their initial medical exam.   We then update each animal as they are examined, have surgery and chip installed and/or read, etc.   We are a rescue with many locations nationallly not a shelter.   Skeletal info is immediately emailed to a central source for entry to our database w/o chip vendor info.  Therefore, having a chip vendor cloned would be antiproductive for us.   Thx.

Thanks for the explanations.  It's not necessary - I just thought it was an oversight.

Thanks for your post.  I think we are currently not cloning microchip vendor on purpose.  But we could consider this as a request for an option in the future to clone the vendor.

This issue is almost mentioned in this Question:

Can you please clear out microchip field when cloning an animal?

We've added this request to our tracking system, and it is linked below.
