How can I verify that an application fee has been paid?

We have a submission fee set up for our adoption applications, but is there a way we can verify the fee has been paid, without going through Paypal or email?  The volunteers who handle our applications do not have access to our Paypal account, and we would rather not share that information with volunteers if we don't have to.  I know the transactions are all handled through Paypal, but if anybody has suggestions for what we could do, that would be great!

        Kimberly, it is possible to do this, via the feature that PayPal calls IPN.  The process works that when someone buys an item from your website, they can send information back to your website that it was bought and the status, etc.  So it's technically possible, but not currently a feature of our services.  I've added the tag "requests" on your Question so we will consider it for the future.
