If the microchip number is not removed, I'm worried our intake team will occasionally think they already entered the microchip when the field is filled with the previous animal's data, giving some animals the wrong chip ID.
Since there is never a case where you should have identical microchips for two animals, I think this makes perfect sense. You already clear the name and Rescue ID for similar reasons, so I'm hoping this isn't that hard to do.
