The Animal Network uses for the Partnerships feature.  Please see the Partnerships section of this User Guide for more information.

The Animal Network is important because it does not depend on any external service to find homes for animals that are at-risk in their current environment.  Also, the Animal Network enables sharing of animals that are not necessarily available for adoption, like ones that are sick, under a hold, or are undergoing rehabilitation.

The benefits of the Animal Network include:

  • The Animal Network is not dependent on a 3rd party to provide a search for animals.  Often, 3rd party websites are unable to update pet lists in a dependable manner, and a fast response to critical to saving animals that are at-risk.
  • The Animal Network allows sharing of animals other than those that are available for adoption.  Please see below for information on the statuses that are available through the Animal Network.
  • Only organizations with an active partnership can see animals that have been shared on the Animal Network.

You can search your existing partnerships for animals you may be able to transfer to your organization for adoption.  You have to have active partnerships before you can search, and only animals that the organization has shared will appear in your search results.

  • Go to the Animal Search page by clicking Animals > Network.
  • If needed, select choices from the drop downs to narrow down your search results.
  • Click an animal's name to view additional information about that animal.
