Remember, to add questions to your new form, you must have questions in your database already. If you have not yet added questions to your account's database, see the section, Adding online form questions in this guide.

Adding questions to your form

Once you have the list of forms open, click the form to which you want to add questions. The structure of the form opens. Check this over while you have it open to ensure it's the way you want it to look. Note that at this point, you can only change one thing: the Form Introduction. This is a clickable link that opens the familiar WYSIWYG editor. To edit the application so that you can add questions, click the Edit bottom under the form.

Editing the form introduction

The form introduction is what the visitor sees when they click the form to fill it out. To edit this part of the form, click the link (see above) labeled View and Update the form introduction here from the page that opens when you click a form to edit it.

Clicking the link opens the familiar WYSIWYG editor you've seen in other areas of your account. You can apply limited formatting to the introduction (bold, italics, underlining) as well as choose from font styles and size. Write or rewrite the introduction, then click the Save Content button beneath the editor.

Adding questions

To add questions to the form you have open (see above), click the Questions button. Next to the name of the button, you'll see the number of questions (in parenthesis) which are already on the form. If this is a new form, the number will be zero. Clicking the button displays the list of existing questions for this form.

To add a question to the form, click Add a Question to this Form button, at the top of the list of questions.

A form displays that helps you through this process of adding the question. At the top of the form is the name of the form to which you are adding questions. If that name does not match the form you want, simply use the "breadcrumb trail" (below the Add a Question to Form (name) title to go back to the Online Forms list.

Follow these directions to add questions to your form:

  1. Select a question from the list of questions in your database. If you've added the default questions, you will have quite a number to select from, and if you've created custom questions, you will see the short name for those questions in this list. Highlight the question you want to add.

  2. Select the page on which the question should appear. (This is for forms which have pages. You may have selected to keep all the questions on one page.)
  3. Select the order in which you want the question to appear, for instance, first, or last, or elsewhere.
  4. Save the question, or click Save and Add Another to save that question and add another question.
