Is there a working example of how to use online form steps, and what they gain you?
I am creating forms for adoption and foster applications, and I don't see how they would help. But maybe there are other ways to use them that other people are doing that we haven't considered.
Steps are a method that allow you to track where you are in processing an application. They are pass/fail. Some organizations have many steps, while others have few. Not all organizations use steps, but they are there if you choose to use them. If you have questions that are account specific, like something not appearing for you, please open a support ticket: https://rescuegroups.org/support/
I don't use them anymore...
but, it's a way to see where an application is in the process.
step 1. Verify homeownership
Step 2. Call Veterinarian
Step 3. Call personal Reference
Step 4. Contact applicant to arrange home visit
So, you would never waste time on a home visit with an applicant who has a poor vetting history...
you could set that app to denied, and move on.
I think it is to make sure all the required processes are followed by volunteers...
No matter who is 'vetting apps' there is a protocol to follow....
Ok! thankyou, that clarifies it a bit. Right now there is only one person dealing with all of that stuff, and she is in charge, so it doesn't really need a safeguarded process. We may only have 8 -10 adopters or foster applications pending at any time, so its not currently something that we need much of a system of checks for. Thanks!
so... what is your process?
Home ownership verification?
Criminal background check?
Each of these can be a 'step' in the process to determine if the applicant is approved or denied..
Well, when we get an animal, it goes into foster, and stays there while it goes through all its vaccinations and desexing, de-worming and snap tests, microchip etc. Once all that is done its status is changed to available and it gets advertised on the website.
When we have an adoption application that a potential adopter fills out, once they have answered all the questions and passed (there are 36, and include references etc), we wait for a suitable animal to become available, and then they have a home check and the references are called.
How would this stepped process work with either of these? I am not connecting the dots. Is there a video of it in use?
So I guess there are three steps, get the answers acceptably right, pass a home check, and pass the reference check. How does this actually work though? I put a step in for each of these into the form, but they don't appear to do anything
