What is the purpose of select groups?

I can only find how to set them up, not what the benefit or purpose of them is.

      Melissa,

      Select Groups allow someone to select one or more options you want them to choose as either as either a drop down, or check boxes. 

      For example:

      Home Type: House, Condo, Apartment

      Rent Own Lease: Rent, Own, Lease

      Fence Type: Chain, Wood, None

      Yes No NA: Yes, No, NA

      Note: You do not need to create a Select Group for Available Animals. You would instead choose the Answer Type Available Animals.

        I use them when i get 'something different'  I'm a breed specific rescue, but i took in a bunch of a a 'different breed'  so i created a group for them... people can search by groups. 

        if you have a program.. (like Seniors for Seniors) add them to that group... and when searching, they will show up.  It helps people find what they're looking for more easily.
