Let me also add a little detail here. There are two optional date fields used for reminders:
Reminder Date (optional and used for reminders): Select the date to send a reminder if this is journal is something that will be repeated.
For example, a medication is given every month you could ask for a reminder the week before to ensure you have the medication.
Due Date (optional and used for reminders): Select a date that the activity in this journal entry is due again.
For example, the date the next dose of medication is due.

I don't want the reminder to go to the person who entered it (as Andrea below is stating that it does) as volunteers come and go and most of them are entering this information. Therefore, the reminders should be set up to go to a specific email address like the our main email. How can this be done????

yes, whoever puts in the journal entry will get a reminder email on that date. It will say something like this:
Dear Your Name,
You asked us to remind you about an Animal Journal entry you created
for Molly 0924.
You left this comment concerning the alert: Needs to be spay in April
2020 and then contract finalized

Hi Everyone!!!!
So for the past 4 years, I have been putting all of our "vetting" information with the dates of them in the "Private Notes" section in the database management. Just today I learned that this is what the Animal Journals are for. Oy!!!! However, I have a question, I see that there is a reminder date listed on there. So when we put in say a Rabies date and we put a reminder date, will we automatically get an email to remind us that a vaccination or follow up is needed? Thank you!

Right now, the ability to select who receives Journal Alert reminders is linked to the user that is logged in. However, it's certainly something we could consider adding in the future. We have a reporting and tracking system called Jira that allows the community to vote on what they would like to see us work on as resources allow.
