How do you sort or search animals by location using toolkit, perhaps custom animal groups?

I am using the toolkit on our website to display animals. We have 2 types of locations for animals that are available for adoption, in a 'cat room' which people can come and visit, and then animals in foster care (where visiting needs to be arranged).  We want to be able to differentiate between the two in the search, or make 2 separate pages. I tried using 'location' settings, but that don't seem to have that flexibility.  I was wondering if the custom animal groups might help with this.  But it seems like custom animal groups data is only accessible through web services?   Any direction would be appreciated!

    Thanks Michelle, So that sounds like it might do the job. As we have a website already, can we integrate and embed the website service into that, and display the dynamically generated animals page on our domain?  How does that work?  Would it be possible to try it out, or see some examples of it in action before I recommend it to management?

    Melissa, there isn't a way to embed the website service within another website.

    Ok, am I understanding correctly, that if I want to have some ability to display and sort my animals into 2 locations, I would need to use your entire webservices service and throw away my entire website? 

    1) Can you help me with what my options are? 

    2) Is there someone I could talk to?

    3) Are there videos that show more about the functionality of Web Services, and implementation technical details?

    The Custom Animal Groups feature is only available with RescueGroups.org Website Service. The intent is to allow organizations to automatically display specific animals on a dynamically generated page that go beyond the built-in Special Lists feature. The organization can create a Custom Animal Group, select specific animals, and even create a web page to use as a header with content that will appear at the top of the dynamically generated Custom Animal Group Web Page. This would be a good example of how to display animals that are in the "Cat Room".  A simple check box would add those animals to that web page for display. To remove them from that page, the organization would edit the animal and uncheck the box for that Custom Animal Group.

    There isn't a way to do this currently with the Pet Adoption Toolkit as this feature is only available with the RescueGroups.org Website Service.
