When will the support for old REST API end?

Can someone please tell me when the old REST API is going to not be supported anymore?  I know a newer version which uses query parameters is being released or has already been released.  So, I am not sure if or when you are going to drop support for the interface which uses the http POST verb as its main interface.  Just want to know how long I have till I have to support the new get interface.  Thanks, Greg

      Hey Greg,

      We do not have a specific date for when the v2 API will be retired.  We plan to make an announcement soon, and provide as much as 12 months notice.

        I'm just starting to program for the API. I'm assuming I should start by using the V5 API guidelines? I only need to do some basic integration; specifically add, update, and search contacts.
