Andrea,
These are great suggestions and I would recommend that you add these feature requests here: How can I submit a feature request or idea for an improvement to the RescueGroups.org services?
You've outlined a lot of the features and functionality that exists currently.
Many organizations do not use the Animal Journal strictly for costs related to an animal. A foster home can add an Animal Journal Entry with a comment and enter a dollar amount of $0.
You could then export all journal entries to a spreadsheet and filter out the meet and greet entries, or create a custom data table view and possibly add filters.
An Event is currently required for the Meet and Greet feature, but it's definitely something we can consider changing in a future update.
Warmly,
Michelle

Michelle, myself and others in my rescue have submitted feature requests and they never get implemented. It's been over two years for some...and they are critical for us. I don't have much confidence in anything that is submitted on that site.

Does anyone have a solution to keeping your volunteers up-to-date with the status (not the actual "Status" field) of an animal up for adoption? We have Fosters who have the animals, Potential Adopters, and Caseworkers who are go-betweens for fosters and adopters. This is a specific request from one of our fosters and it sparked a conversation with our volunteers on how best to do it:
As a foster, one thing I wish I could do is make notes in RG about my dog, like when there's a 'meet and greet' scheduled and who it's with, health or other updates about the dog, etc. Then a caseworker could look at the dog's info and see the latest status on the dog.
we're used to being able to track potential adopters through their adoption app/online form where we add comments to the submitted form and can keep everyone updated on the status of that potential adopter. But we have no way to do this for the animal side of things.
