Why does the Animals Search box under Search Site return more than one animal's name?

When I search for an animal's name on the Search box under "search site" on the left it returns several results.  Why?

      The animal search feature evaluates the entire animal record when broadly looking for the search terms entered, not just the animal name.  This allows the use of the Animal Search feature to find records using many kinds of search terms, such as microchip number, breed, etc. That is why this feature is set up to allow for that type of flexibility. 

      If your search returns to many results, we would recommend that if you are looking for a specific field, such as name, then you could use our Specific Field search. You can read more about that option here: Searching for an Animal#Searchingspecificfieldsinthedatatableview
