    Dawn,

This depends on which RescueGroups.org service you have.

With the Website Service, which is what your organization has, you have a couple of options.

You can either change the status from "Available" which the animal is shown publicly, to "Hold" or "Pending" which will then remove the animal from your website.

Alternatively, you could leave the animal as "Available" and use the adoption "Pending" box on the animal: Using the adoption pending field. This would then leave the animal as active on your website, and allow you to continue to accept applications for that animal. Organizations often do this to allow them to continue to find good adoptive homes that may be suitable for other animals in your organization or if the adoption falls through.

    Warmly,

    Michelle

We leave them as available and mark the adoption pending box.  If you change the status to pending that moves the dog from the available list and you would not be anle to get applications on them.

Not available removes them from displaying online whereas pending leaves them up and states they are pending adoption. So it's your personal preference which way you go
