    Krista,

When an animal is likely to be adopted and you want the animal to be removed from your available animal list while processing the adoption, we recommending that you change the animal status to Hold or Pending. You can read more about managing animal statuses in RescueGroups.org here: Managing animal status

If you are using our Website Service, there is an additional option. If you would like the animal to remain available on your website but add a notice that there is an adoption pending, then you can use our Adoption Pending field to notify your website visitors. You can read more about that feature here: Using the adoption pending field

Please let us know if you have further questions!

    Emily

I change the status to Pending, which removes it from the website.  It's all about what your organization wants to use for designators.  There are a lot of statuses that remove your animal from being listed on your website and Petfinder.  We use Pending for those that are going to be adopted but the paperwork hasn't been processed yet. We use Not Available for those dogs who might be permanent fosters due to health or behavioral issues.

There is also a check-mark you can place in the dogs main profile that's near the bottom for "Adoption Pending" that will keep the animal on the website but put "Pending" next to their name.  Though for that I think there's a main setting you need to turn on or off...but I'm not sure because we don't use this.
