I love that we can send an email reply to a form submission without leaving RG. Not having to leave RG to send the email is not only efficient, it also helps to keep an accurate log of communication. But is there a way to allow replies to post within RG as well, so that if the user replies, all further communication doesn't occur elsewhere (e.g., Gmail)?

Example

  1. John submits a contact form
  2. I review the submitted form within RG and reply using 'Contact Applicant'
  3. John receives my reply and responds
  4. His response is sent to the organization email, which is handled in Gmail, outside of RG
  5. Because all communication is now in Gmail, each person who deals with this person will need to manually add comments to the submitted form to ensure there is an accurate record of what transpired after the initial reply from within RG (#2)

In summary, is there a way for the response in #3 to post to his specific form submission in RG? Instead of it being sent to an external (Gmail) inbox.

      Hi Brandon,

We appreciate your detailed question! Unfortunately, there isn't a way currently to automatically tie an email to a submitted form. We would welcome you to submit feature request for this capability:

There are a few options as a workaround. Some organizations add a comment on the submitted form and copy the response from the email response there. That way the rest of your team can see that information. Unfortunately, if there are attachments in that email, that option wouldn't work.

Another option is to attach the email (or perhaps just the email attachments, such as images) as a file to the Contact's record in your RescueGroups.org account. Then you could add a comment on the form indicating the email has been attached to the contact record.

      Using contact files

      Hope this helps!
