There are a couple of entries that I would like to change the default setting, when adding an animal.  One is "Location Public".  The choices are Yes or No.  I would like the default to be No.  How to I do that.  Right now, the default is Yes.

I don't need or want to create a template, but thank you for the suggestion.  Too many variables are different per animal, where a template would not be practical.  I just wanted to have this one question with a different default.  One less thing to click.

      Ok, thanks.

        Patty,

Thanks for the additional information! To clarify, you could certainly create a template where the only change from the standard new animal record would be that the Location Public field is set to No. You would not need to add any further variables then that. You would select that template every time you want to add an animal and after the template is loaded, you would then set the additional animal information at that time.

I understand that it would save you a short click to have the default value automatically loaded per your organization's needs. You are welcome to add a feature request for this capability:

      Patty,

While RescueGroups.org does not provide a method to modify the default settings of a new animal record, we would suggest that you use the Animal Templates feature. Creating a Template will allow you to specify certain values for a new animal record. If you like, you can share your Animal Template with your entire organization to use. Please read more about this feature in our User Guide here:

Please let us know if you have further questions!
