I am trying to figure out how to run this report and have the fields populate.  Where is the data coming from.  I feel like we are not using RG to the extent that we could and to benefit us as best it could.  I am currently  trying my best to fix this.  Currently I am trying o figure out how to properly intake animals and record outcomes.  But this is proving very difficult.  Please help me!

      Hi Alana,

The Asilomar report is pulling in data about your available animals as well as their associated intakes, adoptions, and outcomes. Here's a good excerpt from the RG documentation that I think explains the importance of these features:

Our Intakes, Outcomes, and Adoptions features should be used together and are very useful for tracking an animal's progress through your organization with point in time data. An animal's primary record is a static record and therefore has some limitations - for example it can only store one received date or adopted date. However, as you are likely aware, animals may return to an organization more than once, and these advanced features help you to track all the specific dates, along with other relevant details, whenever an animal enters or leaves your organization's care.

In order to be able to fully utilize RG's reporting, including the Asilomar report, it's imperative that you begin using them in your organization. I'm not an RG expert, but I've spent many hours recently reading their documentation in its entirety. As best as I can tell:

      • Every animal should have at least one intake record
      • Animals that are no longer in your care should have at least one outcome record
      • The intake and outcome records are associated with each other
      • Animals that have been adopted should have an intake, adoption, and outcome record
      • Because these records are linked to each other, it allows for more robust reporting, including Asilomar

I commented on another question with a more thorough explanation of these features and how they relate to reporting. Give it a read. I hope it helps to answer some of your questions.
