Example: A person fills out our form to become a volunteer does that information into the database with the contact marked as a volunteer or do we need to hand enter the information?

Thanks,

      Hi Dawn!

RescueGroups.org Online Forms Service does enter information directly into your RescueGroups.org account, saving your team enormous amounts of time over using paper forms or sending forms in email. With regards to creating contacts, you can handle this a few different ways. You can choose a setting to automatically add a contact for each form filled out. Or, you can review each submitted form and choose whether to add the contact to your RescueGroups.org account at that time. You can control this behavior in your Online Forms settings. Read more about this option in our User Guide here: Understanding the settings for online forms

Currently, you will need to add contacts to your Volunteer group manually in your RescueGroups.org management interface. One way to do this is by opening the contact's record and clicking the Edit button. Then, select the checkbox next to 'Volunteer' and click 'Save'.

We do have an open feature request that we refer to as the Workflow feature which would allow your team to configure actions for specific events such as this. We hope to add this feature as resources allow. Please go to the following page and vote for this issue if you'd like to see us implement it. Also, if you have any comments or suggestions related to the request you can enter them at the page below.
