I am trying to get a report of intakes, specifically transfers in (as in, the animals we pull from local shelters). I need to see where the animal transferred in from. There does not seem to be any option to add the "Transfer From" field. Help please.
I know the Incomes and Outcomes are a different ball game so I utilized custom groups (instate, out of state, born in, stray) in order to prepare my Dept of Agriculture reports. I like that the animal records allows you to Transfer To option .. but it would be excellent if there was a Transfer From option there as well that would help us determine which shelter we pulled from. At least an idea
That worked! I entered Origins for the animals (for this year - need to go back over older data) and ran a report, and wala! Yay!
Great! Wish I knew how to create Custom Groups.
I've created Custom Groups that have really helped me with categories, like "pulled from AC" and "owner Surrender". Our rescue does a LOT of surrender prevention, so we assist a lot of owned animals. (Surrender prevention works!) I had to create custom groups "Owned Animals" and "Facilitated Adoptions" (those are ones that the owner or finder asks for help with rehoming, but has funded all vetting - those are my fav.) It's working very well. But for a list of from whom/where the animal came, i.e. an animal shelter, I needed to figure out a way to generate that. Origin may work.
So, Heidi, you are able to then run a report, specifying the Origin field? That works for me, as long as I can run a report of a list of shelters that we got animals from (sorry - bad grammar).
As Heidi mentioned above, you can use the Origin field on the animals, but I believe you are using the Intakes and Outcomes feature, which is a completely different ballgame!
As you have probably noticed, we are deficient with our Intakes and Outcomes report. There isn't a Custom Report that would include what you are looking for, so if you want to open a support ticket we can run a manual report for you.
We use the "origin" box to indicate, for example, "transfer from ABC", or "stray", "surrender", etc.. You can include that field in your reports, but need to be consistent. You can also put in your notes. I have not seen a drop down, unfortunately.
