microchip registration for adopters

If I have a microchip already added to an animal profile, when I move them to adopted does it automatically re-register the chip to the new owner? Is there anything else I need to do?

      Dorian,

      1. First you would want to have the microchip cleared from the registry.

      2. After you have ensured that the chip has been removed from the registry, you can go back to Animals > Microchip Registrations and you'll note the checkbox next to the microchip registration. If you click that box, you can then select Delete from the dropdown list above the chips.

      We always caution users when removing the chips because if they are still in the registry, you will get an error when the chip number gets re-entered.
