I need to perform some advanced logic to try to get more accurate statistics on our animals; things like estimating the dates animals passed out of our care via being transported, reclaimed, returned, stolen, etc; statuses which do not have their own "date" field (or for those that do for which the date field was incorrectly populated). Is there a way to get the Animal History accessible via the "History" link in the manage website through the API?

Thanks,

Louis

Thanks Richard. I don't think we are using the Intakes ant Outcomes, but I will look more into it.

        Louis,

No, the animal history is not available via the API.

Are you using the Intakes and Outcomes feature of the Data Management service?  That would really be the only way to report on dates in the manner you have mentioned.

I do believe that you can pull Intakes and Outcomes via the API.

        Hope that helps,

        Richard

          Hi again Richard,

It looks like Intakes and Outcomes might indeed meet our needs for reporting. I'd like to play with it to be sure, but the https://test-manage.rescuegroups.org/animal_add seems to be broken... is there a new test site that mirrors the new main site?

Also, as far as converting our current inventory over to using the Intakes and Outcomes, the API documentation for those objects doesn't list "add" commands... can they not be added via the API? Manually converting the 9,000 animals in our database isn't feasible. (smile)

          Thanks again for your help!

Just played with intakes/outcomes at the production a bit... It seems that pulling from shelters would be considered a Transfer from another Rescue? And Outcomes is missing some of the "Status" exit conditions of an animal (e.g. Strayed, Stolen), some of which are used in the Best Friends and shelteranimalcount.org stats. Are these Outcomes customizable?
