What is the purpose of the Allow Exports field on animals?

What does this field do, and how is it related to the Export Accounts for Adopt-a-Pet.com and Petfinder?

      You may have noticed that under Export Accounts you will find your legacy Adopt-a-Pet.com and Petfinder accounts that you can enable/disable for each individual pet.  (Related post: Why do I only see Adopt-a-Pet.com and Petfinder in my exports list?)

      The Allow Export field controls if the pet will be available to modern services (like websites and apps that use the RescueGroups.org API, including the Pet Adoption Toolkit).

      If a pet is purposely removed from all export accounts, the Allow Export will be set to No automatically by the system.

      It's important to note that if you disable the Allow Export field you may not realize that the pet is being removed from all exports.
