Default Assignee on New Online Form

When we try to choose a default assignee when creating a new online form, we are not able to choose a contact. Can someone please help us?

      Thank you so much for your answer, Richard. We are still confused though, because the person we want to make the default assignee is not a volunteer. They are a staff member.

        Please be sure the Contact is in the Volunteer group.  You can do that by going to the Contact under Contacts > Contact List, click their name, and check the Groups.  You can edit the Contact if you need to add them to the Volunteer group.
