To hopefully alleviate this problem, we've added a request to add the ability to rotate uploaded pictures.
We've added this request to our tracking system, and it is linked below.

If you are seeing your images from your phone or computer rotated when you upload, please read the information below.
When you take a photo, most devices have an option to "auto-rotate" so that when you view it on your phone or computer, it automatically rotates the image. That rotation information is like a little sticker on the image. and is not actually saved with the image. When you upload your photo to the web, the sticker with that rotation information to rotate is missing.
You will need to use an application that re-saves the image so it "saves" the rotation data. You'll know you are saving it with the rotation data if you have to select "file > save as"

I have had the same problem at times. What you need to do is save the picture by pulling up the picture on your computer and then choosing "save as". Just rename it and that will fix the orientation.

I have had the pictures upload sideways a couple of times. I've tried rotating the picture and re-uploading, but it doesn't fix it. And I've been able to fix it a few days later with the same pic, but don't know why.
I also noticed this problem. I wasn't sure if it had to do with landscape or profile mode when the photo was taken?
