I love that we can merge duplicates, but I would love a way to search for duplicates as well.  We have over 5000 contacts and every time a new app comes in there is no way to know if they are already in our contacts, so we add them if they adopt, but that sometimes creates duplicates.  Can we get a report that searches for duplicates?  Even better, a report that gives us the option to choose which fields to search (last name, first name or last name, email or last name, street).

Wendy, when you get a new Submitted Form, you can click on the Contact and then click "Merge with an existing contact."  That will allow you to do a search and hopefully avoid adding a duplicate.

We do not have a way to seek out duplicate contacts, however, we've added a request to have a report/search for duplicate contacts and request in our Issue tracking system is linked below.

Please go to the following page and vote for this issue if you'd like to see us implement it.  Also, if you have any comments or suggestions related to the request you can enter them at the page below.

I find it easiest, download a report (csv file) with all contacts and groups and using Excel/Google Sheets to do a sort. That way I can sort by different things like last name, email, phone number, address.... since people use different emails and numbers it can be complicated. Then I have a pathway on what ones need merging.

That is actually very helpful.  I'll try the merge/search from now on.  I didn't realize the merge option allowed a search.
