Could we be asked to change status for dog when changing and adoption from "success" to "return"?

When I delete an adoption a screen comes up that asks if I'd like to make the animal available (among other things).  I'd like to have that same screen come up with I change an adoption from "success" to "return".  That's when I want dogs to become available again.  I don't want to delete the prior adoption because we want to keep a record of it.

        This easy feature was taken away with this all too comprehensive new version. I need to get a dog back fast and now It seems  I must delete and re enter? That makes for unreliable tracking.

        I vote get it back. Rescue people are busy, I just won't use this medium if I have to re enter.
