We would really like to be able to export our available animals, update missing information in Excel, and then import to update the database.

It would be very useful to be able just to add a listing without having to export -> update -> import data — e.g. submit the data in some set format with an additional parameter like "action=animal_add" and the server returns the finished listing with an animal ID. girlwithglasses

I would also like this, or even just a way to add animals. When you shut down a puppy mill and are adding 25 dogs that are basically the same... It would be nice to have functionality to make that faster.

Julia, FYI: when you are adding animals that are basically the same you can use the Clone button. So if you add one animal, click the Save and Clone button and you will be given the opportunity to add another animal with the exact same values.

Has there been any updates to this request since 2014?  Our contact list needs cleaning and needs proper formats for mailing and email campaigns.  Ideally, I would love to export the data (using Reports) as a .csv file and clean up in excel.  I can create a file for import but am not sure how it can be done.  Plus we dont want to risk losing our database nor create duplicates.  Thanks, Bonnie

I agree this would be a very helpful tool after we changed the way we tracked some information about our animals and had to manually change in each animal's page. With hundreds of animals to edit this was Tedious!!

We have updated a previous request for this New Feature in our issues tracking system known as JIRA.  You can view the New Feature request at this link:
