General Age
The General Age field is the drop down with the common ages like Baby, Young, Adult and Senior. This field is exported to the adoption listing websites including Adopt-a-Pet.com and Petfinder.
Birthdate and Age selectors
The Birthdate field is a specific date that is saved as the animal's birthdate. This date can be an estimate, or exact birthdate (see Exact Birthdate field below). The date you enter is saved and the years/months/days can be calculated for the animal's age.
The Age selectors (years, months, days) can be used to determine the animal's birthdate. For example, if you know the animal is 10 days old, select 10 in the Days drop down. The birthdate will automatically be calculated for you.
The values you select in the Age selectors (years, months, days) are not saved. Only the Birthdate that is calculated is saved with the animal.
Exact Birthdate
Select the Exact Birthdate checkbox if you know that the animal was born on the Birthdate selected. Otherwise, the birthdate might be shown as an estimate.
