The animal status field can be changed to reflect the changes as an animal moves through your organization, such as Available (for adoption), Hold (for medical or training), Euthanized (when a rescue animal comes in very injured or ill and must be euthanized), and Adopted, for instance.

Your organization can make any status (other than Deleted) available via the RescueGroups.org API. You can set your public animal statuses by going to Animals > Settings > Public Statuses. Select Public statuses from the menu at the top of the page.
