Does anyone know of a way to add a custom animal status? I would like to have a "sanctuary" or "hospice" option that removes the animal from public view but that isn't confused with "unavailable" or "hold".

I, too, would like to be able to do this.  Exactly.  Watching for the answer.

Patty, with the Pet Adoption Portal this is not available. With the data management service or website service, you could use the status "Treatment".

We use the pet adoption portal.  And "treatment" would not work.  Some are being treated (mostly for heartworms) but we are helping a lot with vacs, s/n, food, etc.   Right now, I have their status as Not Available.  And I enter their Intake type as Service.  And Outcome as Returned to Owner.  It would just be really excellent if there was an "Owned" status.  Thankfully, more and more organizations are starting to do Surrender Prevention work.  So maybe this request will get more votes.

    Patty,

The Intakes/Outcomes feature is not available with the Pet Adoption Portal, but is included with the Data Management Service and Website Service.

We thank you for your input. This section is just for Questions.

Here's where to add and vote on feature requests: How can I submit a feature request or idea for an improvement to the RescueGroups.org services?

    Warmly,

    Michelle

Ok.  Then we use the Data Management Service.  Sorry.

I understand that this section is for questions.  I have submitted it as a request in 2017, as I said.

    Sophie,

With the Pet Adoption Portal, there are fewer statuses.

With the Data Management Service and Website Service, you have more animal statuses.

For example, you could use Treatment, Not Available, or Hold. None of these statuses will appear in a public view.

If an animal is Sanctuary or Hospice, many organizations using the Website Service, change the animal status to Sponsorship. This will not show the animal as available for adoption, but donations can also be accepted for the animal. They may also choose to not export that specific animal.

If you need additional tips/suggestions, let us know.

Can we create a Status, not already in the list of choices?
