One of the built-in features of the Website Service is the ability to display events and animal attendance on your RescueGroups.org website.

The Data Management Service provides the ability to track events and animal attendance data.

The Website Service includes the ability to display events and animal attendance on your RescueGroups.org website.

Every event must have a location.  You can learn more about Locations in the Locations section of this User Guide.

Adding a Single Event

To add an event:

  1. Click Add an Event. 
  2. Select the event location and complete the event information fields. 
  3. Enter an event start and event end date and time.

You can add either a single event or a recurring event.

You can also copy an existing event by clicking Copy next to that event. You can then make changes to the new event.

Adding a Recurring Event

To add a recurring event:


  1. Click Add Multiple. 
  2. Select the event location and complete the event information fields. 
  3. For a recurring event, select the day of the month and the number of events to create.
  4. Specify the location of the event. Visitors to your website will be able to find a map to the location address you have entered.
  5. Once you have entered the event information, click Save Event. If you added a recurring event, a new event will be added for each occurrence of the event.

Events Settings

To enable the Events feature and to select a Map Service, click on the Settings icon.

When you add an Event, you can specify the location of the event. Visitors to your web site will be able to find a map to the location address you have entered.

To specify which online mapping service you would like to use, select:

  • Yahoo Maps
  • Google Maps
  • MapQuest
  • Do not show a map

Be sure to click the radio button next to, Enable Events.

Editing an event

You can edit an event by clicking Edit next to the event in the event list.  See the Add an Event article for more information about the Event fields.
