Darin,
Rescue ID is not a required field when using our HTTP API to search animal data. Would you please consider creating a support ticket to share your exact API request so we can help you troubleshoot this issue?

I'm trying to output courtesy listings using the HTTP API and when filtering by my org ID I can get my current listings and even see the value of the animalCourtesy field but it seems that if the animal does not have a Rescue ID value, they won't display in my results. Is the Rescue ID a requirement for the HTTP API?
The rescue group I'm working with have only 2 courtesy listings at this time and I cannot get them to show up in my results, the Rescue ID is the only administrative field that seems to be different from other listings that do show up correctly in my results. I noticed micro chip and received date also had blank values for these two listings so maybe that has something to do with it but I'm not sure.
