Can we use a PO Box instead of our physical address for purposes of email marketing campaigns?

I'd like to use the email campaign marketing tool, but it is a problem that it displays our address at the bottom.  Currently, the address we have listed in RescueGroups is a physical location that is someone's personal residence.  I'd like to change it to our PO Box for privacy reasons, but our PO box is in a different state, and Rescue Groups won't let me change the state. (Even though we operate in two states).

Can you help?

      Hi Anne, 

      Unfortunately emails sent from the Email Marketing Service will include your organization's address from your account. This is a requirement of the CAN-SPAM Act. The organization's street address will always be included. Also see the information included in this guide: Understanding spam email

      In your case you would need to officially change your organization's address to reflect the state where your PO box is (or get a PO box in your current state).
